FAQs

Can I read scanned PDF files?

No, unless the PDF file contains an OCR layer. When you scan a document into a PDF file, the file contains images of text. To convert images into actual text, you need to do OCR (Optical Character Recognition).

Can I read eBooks in Kindle, iBooks, or Nook?

Not directly. Voice Dream Reader can load eBooks in EPUB format. But most books you buy have DRM (Digital Rights Management) protection to prevent piracy, which means they are encrypted. If you try to load them into Voice Dream Reader, they’ll show up empty.
There’re ways to remove DRM, but it’s not trivial. Kindle books requires an extra step to convert from MOBI format to EPUB format.
We believe intellectual property should be protected. This is your decision.
