Following our recent announcement to transition Voice Dream to a subscription, we received an overwhelming response from thousands in our community. Your feedback, along with the impactful stories shared about Voice Dream being a pivotal part of your daily lives, has led us to reverse this change.

We will continue to provide access to the app’s existing features at no additional cost.

As we continue developing Voice Dream, some new features may be offered as part of a subscription, but the current capabilities will remain free to those who have already purchased Voice Dream.

For those who have already moved to a subscription, it’s no longer necessary to continue using the app. You may cancel your subscription, but we welcome you to keep it active to support ongoing development.

To those who wish to support Voice Dream, please consider a subscription, a one-time donation via our website, or simply leaving a positive review in the App Store.

To keep improving the app, we’re switching over to subscription pricing on May 1, 2024.

This subscription includes the Mac app, all the voices, and much more. You will always have access to existing documents, but the subscription will be required to upload new ones.

We made this difficult decision to balance rising costs with our goal to keep building a better app for readers like you. Here’s why we’ve decided to make the change now —

    • In the past year we’ve shipped dozens of improvements, including:

      • Synced iOS and Mac apps

    • In the next year we’re expanding the team, adding better voices, integrating with Kindle, improving our Apple Watch app, and building many other features requested by readers like you.
  • Support ongoing costs of business
    • Some of our most beloved features — unlimited listening, the full voice library, access to both iOS and MacOS apps — come with recurring costs. Subscriptions align better with this long-term cost of maintenance.
  • Invest in the next generation of readers
    • We provide free Voice Dream accounts to the students and school districts who need them most. We will always do this, and we appreciate your help in making it possible.

  • What’s included in the subscription?
    • The subscription includes both the iOS and Mac apps, all of the voices, unlimited listening, and all other premium features available to you today. It will also include any future improvements, including those mentioned above.
  • What if I already have a Mac subscription?
    • If you already have a Mac subscription, you just need to log into the same account on all your devices. This subscription includes access to the iOS app as well.
  • How do I start my subscription?
    • Click here to subscribe. You can also subscribe through the App Store by opening the app, going to the Settings menu in the top left corner, and tapping the banner on the bottom of the menu. This option includes Family Sharing.
  • When does the price change take effect?
    • The change to subscription pricing takes effect on May 1, 2024.
  • What if I don’t upgrade before May 1, 2024?
    • After May 1, 2024, you will no longer be able to add new documents to your library. You will be able to access and listen to any documents uploaded to your library before then.
  • How does the new price compare to other apps?
    • Voice Dream’s subscription costs about half as much as any similar quality apps. The subscription will be $59.99 for you, which is 25% off the regular price of $79.99.
  • I want to subscribe but I do not see the banner in Settings.
    • If you have not already subscribed and you do not see the banner, you may subscribe online or email us at support@voicedream.com for assistance. There is also a button in Settings that says Subscribe.
  • Why are you increasing prices?
    • We are continuing to invest in the product to make it better for readers like you. Please see the above post for more details on what we’re building and why this change is necessary.
